Kohomadha Inc.

A Japanese company working on both directions of the same border:
companies selling into Japan, and Japanese producers selling out of it.

Naoya Takamatsu, Representative Director
Overseas Business Support Representative, Tottori Prefecture

Most of this site is written in Japanese, because most of what we publish is addressed to Japanese producers and manufacturers. This page collects what is written in English, and explains briefly who you would be dealing with.

What we do

For companies selling into Japan. We identify the right counterparties, make the approach in Japanese, arrange and attend the meetings in both languages, and stay with the work through contracting. We are not a research firm: the deliverable is a conversation with a real counterparty, not a report about the market.

For Japanese producers selling abroad. We find out what an overseas buyer actually requires — volume, price band, specification, certification, delivery window — and turn that into something the producer can decide on. Ordering the work this way round means the money is not spent before the requirement is known.

We are a small company. You deal with the people running it, not with an account handler.

Into Japan

Overseas companies that want to sell in Japan. Counterparty identification, Japanese-language approach, meetings attended in both languages, and support through contracting.

Out of Japan

Japanese producers that want to sell overseas. Buyer requirements established first, then the product, documents and price built to fit them.

Tsunagu is the Japanese verb "to connect".
It is what the practice is built to do.

Also worth knowing

Our Representative Director is appointed by Tottori Prefecture as an Overseas Business Support Representative, a current appointment which gives direct access to prefectural industry desks and the companies they support. Regional Japanese manufacturers generally do not respond to cold approaches from overseas; they are reachable in person, in Japanese, which is the practical reason this route matters.

We hold no registered offices outside Japan. We work with a standing network of members in their own markets across Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East — people we work with continuously, rather than a subcontractor list assembled per project.

Some of our work is under confidentiality and is not named here. If a reference is relevant to a decision you are making, ask and we will tell you what can be said.

Get in touch

Tell us the market you are in, the counterparty type you are trying to reach, and the decision you are trying to make. A reply in English usually comes within one business day, Japan time.
